I just went to something similar hosted by LANB last Tuesday (4/18) but put on by independent money managers. It was pretty lame in my opinion. They spent the first 30 minutes or so going over typical tcp1 vs. tcp2 scenarious that most of us have already done. The second half dealt with IRAs, 401k's, and taxes etc. that was more useful. I asked about the IRS rule on the "same desk" criteria but they didn't have much knowledge of this rule.
At the end they passed out an evaluation form. This form had one short part for the evaluation but the majority of the form was to help you set up a private meeting with them. Clearly they are looking for ways to manage your money.
