Something you don't hear about every day

Russian squirrel pack 'kills dog'

Squirrels have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a Russian park, local media report.

Passers-by were reportedly too late to stop the attack by the black squirrels in a village in the far east, which reportedly lasted about a minute.

They are said to have scampered off at the sight of humans, some carrying pieces of flesh.

A pine cone shortage may have led the squirrels to seek other food sources, although scientists are sceptical.

[Yes, you are absolutely correct: this has nothing whatsoever to do with LANL. Except for the part about the sceptical scientists, that is. --Doug]

Full Story

What do you mean this has nothing to do with LANL. Just look at all the vicious squirrels we have in management. And, at least 3 of them are killer squirrels.
You want to be vindicated and to blame others. To say that lanl managers killed is a delusion. People have been let go from LANL for reasons as strong as for you two for years. It causes stress. People have shown bad judgment and responded in dumb ways. The lab is not responsible for that.

I think you are way out of line and ought to be ashamed.
Carrot Gal has a point here. On the one hand, John certainly has grounds for being upset with LANL management, but for him to range into irresponsible hyperbole like the above undermines his credibility. He'll go farther towards convincing others if he can avoid sounding like a JFK conspiracist.
On second thought, john horne may be a ringer... if so, my apologies to the real John!
A bit of friendly advice to John Horne:

I sympathize with your situation, I really do. LANL management treated you and Todd (and others) poorly.

But, you are sufficiently close to the situation that you apparently don't realize that the increasing stridency which which you attempt to make your points detracts from your case. You should try to tone it down a bit, so as to not drive potential supporters of your cause away.

Free advice, take it for what it is worth. You're a smart person, I know you will at least think about it.
Lighten up, guys! The killer squirrels are just the latest incarnation of Jimmy Carter's killer rabbit:

John Horne carries a well-earned grudge, and as the months pass, his (and Tod's) only hope for vindication will be in court.

The good news (I hope!) is that soon we will be done with UC and and the dirtbags who run it.
Harvey-- Point taken. No need to apologize it really was me.

Doe Guy-- Thank you for the advice.
I agree, and from now on, I will wait and consider my posts before sending them (this one has been vetted by three impartial individuals and was found to be non-offensive, I hope). However, I did not send the first post in anger. While the situation is not funny I thought the analogy to the squirrels was rather amusing. I guess it wasn't.
I'm sure that my proximity to these events kept me from seeing that. Thanks again for pointing it out.

But, carrot_gal, for your information Todd and I have already been vindicated. It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that neither of us did anything wrong. This isn't only about the fact that Todd was unjustly fired. It's about the unrelenting attempts to further destroy him after the fact. We have numerous witnesses to these
events. And, I can describe those events in detail if you're interested in hearing the facts that support my statement that LANL is indeed responsible for Todd's death. I'm trying to heed doe guys advice here but I just don't know of any other way to say this. Based on facts, based on witnesses statements, and based on the countless hours of conversations I had with Todd before he passed, I believe that Pete Nanos, Kevin Jones, and Sue Seestrom are responsible for Todd's death because they intentionally created the situation that caused the stress levels that were so damaging to Todd's health. While they may not have intended the final result, their wreckless disregard for others, and for the truth, while shamelessly attempting to cover their own misdeeds, is the root cause in what happened to Todd.

While I may not be very eloquent, and the way I state things can be rather blunt, I refuse to deny what I firmly believe to be the truth. I'm sorry if that upsets you but I am certainly not ashamed
of it. But, the frustration and anger that I feel is obviously coloring my words. I do apologize to all of you for that.

Snake Lips-- Thanks
Yeah, I probably did take your comment too seriously - on the face of it the squirrel tie-in was great. As was the killer bunny - that made my day (thanks snake lips).
