Jabs begin as UC nears vote on lab bid

The University of California Board of Regents was to decide this afternoon on whether to bid on the contract to manage Los Alamos National Laboratory - but bickering between potential competitors has already started.

Two University of California committees voted unanimously Wednesday to recommend the institution move forward with a bid to operate the lab. If the regents accept the recommendations, UC and Bechtel Corp. will form a limited liability company to bid on and operate the lab.

I think it is quite irresponsible for UC regents to take jabs at the LM/UT team without any basis. Gives us some insight into the maturity of the Board of Regents of the UC and why they have been such poor managers (over the last few years)
Making such comments is indeed amateurish. Sort of like getting up in the morning, looking into the mirror, and saying "I'm glad I am not Sandia!"
I think we now know who has a problem with a "culture of arrogance".
It's not the Los Alamos staff. It's our UC management!
